- Show that you know and understand the names of the strings
- Show that you know how you interpret tablature
- use the correct words to describe things related to the guitar unit, for example, the names of the strings, parts of the guitar, ways of playing (strumming, fingerpicking etc..)

- Through a combination of video, audio, photographic or written entries in the Developing Skills section of your Process Journal - assessed as a whole at the end of this unit. Here we should see entries for every project (small and large) that we do. The entries do not have to be long and complicated - sometimes just a short audio clip, video or photo, other times a short written statement.
- Through your reflective statement (near the end of the unit) discussing your answer to our DEBATABLE unit question

- During the Blues Solo Composition Project, you will be required to write a statement of artistic intention - basically your are going to outline what it is that you will be trying to achieve and how you will know when you have achieved that objective - see the task description for more details

- During the Blues Solo Composition Project, you are going to keep some sort of evidence of your attempts to compose or improvise a blues solo in the Thinking Creatively section of your process journal. Showing your failed ideas is just as important as showing your successful ones. Evidence might include video footage of your practise sessions, photos, audio files, sketches, youtube clips of your influences etc...)
D: Responding

- During the Blues Solo Composition Project, you will explore a number of influences before trying to create your own solo. You will show how trying to imitate elements of another guitarists style influenced the way your solo sounds.
